New Zealand/British Tenor Aidan Thomas Phillips is an alumus of the Alexander Gibson Opera School at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, studying under Iain Paton. Aidan was a student at the New Zealand Opera School (2020-2022), and studied both his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at the University of Waikato Conservatorium of Music where he was the recipient of a Sir Edmund Hillary Scholarship, and graduated in 2023 with BMus (Hons) and MMus (Hons) in Classical Vocal Performance. In the 2025/26 season Aidan will debut the role of Leukippos (Daphne/Edinburgh Players Opera Group) Aidan's operatic roles include Don José (Carmen/Clyde Opera Group), Ismaele (Nabucco/Tayside Opera), Tamino (Die Zauberflöte/RCS), Filippo (L’infedelta delusa/RCS), Idomeneo (Idomeneo/RCS) and Adult Albert/Will (Flowing Waters - World Premiere CD Recording/Atoll Records) Also an avid Musical Theatre performer, Aidan's roles include Jamie Wellerstein (The Last Five Years/Tauranga Musical Theatre) and Phantom (The Phantom of the Opera/Theatre Whakatane Inc.) - for which he won Best Actor in a Musical at the 2021 Zony Awards.
